Golf may be a great game, and no one can deny that. Even those that aren’t very good at the sport will develop a passion for it and make it a regular hobby. The factor concerning it is that it requires precise control, and of course an in depth data of the game. There are quite some things to try when creating an attempt to heighten your golf game, some of that might be higher equipment.
The grips on the clubs do make a large difference. You’ll hardly swing your putter correctly if you do not have a sensible putter grip, and as you’ve in all probability worked out, the endgame is the most vital part. Anyone will get the ball to the inexperienced, but finishing the game? That requires a touch of expertise. You want a putter grip that matches both your hands and therefore the type of club.
If you would like to take it even further than a mere putter grip, you’ll continuously try a number of the guides that are on the market on the internet. If you do a quick search you’ll be able to locate all kinds of knowledge which will facilitate you to improve your game. There are sometimes only 2 issues with these types of guides.
The first issue of course is that they’ll be prohibitively expensive. Such a factor is to be expected but, seeing as the knowledge is sometimes very in depth and the information are collected from some of the simplest golfers in the world. The opposite drawback is that they are typically a bit onerous to follow. This too is to be expected because golf isn’t a straightforward game. However what if there were a program out there that could tell you the way to increase your golfing aptitude in solely a brief time? May such a thing exist? It actually may!
There are many golf coaching books takes you beyond getting a new putter grip and actually show you what you’ve got been doing wrong and how you might go regarding fixing it. Even if you have spent years making an attempt to improve your game with zero success, you may be ready to become superior to both your friends and your rivals once you step up to the tee box.
There are many websites providing a nice guide on golf lessons and secrets. The amounts of material that you get from these guides are worth paying hundreds of dollars. Having the proper equipment for golfing may be a great begin, particularly replacing that putter grip of yours. Having a nice guide however is kind of priceless. Your friends can notice your improvement, and you may be happy with your accomplishments. Isn’t that value it?

Putting Instruction For A Better Score

The average golfer is always looking for the quickest way to lower our score, and many of us realize that the putting green is a great place to start. Since putting accounts for more strokes than any other golf shot, it makes sense that getting putting instruction will improve your score the quickest. The problem with putting is that many, even most, golfers spend little to no time practicing putting! There are a few reasons for this. Many of us find it boring easy compared to other types of shots, so why focus on it?
I understand all of these reasons, but I’m here to tell you that putting can be a lot of fun, and it might be the hardest (and most important) stroke to learn. As far as putting instruction goes, I’ll give you some pointers in this article that will get you on your way to a solid putting stroke, and will give you a basis for practice. It all starts with your basic form, so lets take a look.
There is generally two types of putting strokes. The most common might be the pendulum style where the putter moves straight back away from the ball, and straight forward in the follow through. This will give you a solid line to follow. It is easy to see if you are doing it correctly. When using this style of putting it is important to use the proper putter, and that might mean a mallet style putter for more stability. When you take your stroke, you should try to make the wrists, arms and shoulders move as one unit. Your eyes should be directly above the ball. Take this information and go practice!
Now, the other type of putting instruction calls for a more arced stroke. This is similar to a small version of a typical swing with an iron. As you bring the putter back it should rotate slightly, and move inside. As you follow through, the putter should rotate the other way and again come inside slightly. This is probably considered a more advanced style, and it might be harder to master. The nice thing about this style is that once you master it, it tends to be more reliable because it follows the natural way your body wants to move. Again your eyes should be directly above the ball.
I would suggest using the latter style of putting unless you simply feel more comfortable with the pendulum style. I’m not someone who believes one is better than the other. Putting is something that can be very unique with each individual, and either of these techniques will get you rolling in the right direction. Use the one that works for you!
So there you go. Some simple putting instruction to get you going on the practice green. If you are willing to put some time in, you will see results on your scorecard quickly.

A Golf Coach Is Important If You Want To Improve Your Game Or Is It?

Why would anybody need a golf coach for golf lessons when most of the famous golfers of old developed their game pretty much on their own? And besides, wouldn’t a golf coach take away all the fun of the game and make the whole thing too serious to call a leisure activity anymore?
These are some of the many concerns amateur golfers have whenever the idea of a golf coach is suggested to them. Genuine concerns but mostly outdated because the modern game has changed a lot and continue to change.
One of the most distinct changes witnessed in the game is the wide acceptance of golf coaches, exercises and muscle conditioning programs in a sport that has for generations been viewed as a leisure sport with no room for any sort of exercising or muscle strengthening programs.
Has your golf game been getting just a little too frustrating in recent times? Have you been suffering many more humiliating defeats than is the case ordinarily?
Then there is the increasing possibility that you are playing against people who are involved in exercise programs and have a personal golf coach who has been helping them work on improvements in their golf game.
How can you possibly compete with a golfer who has such a huge advantage over you? How can you ever hope to enjoy your game of golf the way you used to in the days when a golf coach was a strange and uncommon phrase in the game?
Probably the biggest advantage of having a golf coach is that they are able to specifically work on your weaknesses using golf specific exercise programs to strengthen the muscles that are critical for you to play a good round of golf.
A golf coach will also help you avoid some of the common but painful and disruptive injuries of the game like the golfer elbow. They will help you avoid them by getting you to warm up properly before a round of golf and do stretches that will help you tone up to tip-top condition for your game.
What’s more, is that there is no age limit in the golfers opting to get a golf coach to help them with their physicals. Even senior citizens are able to successfully implement the exercise programs into their game. In fact some have been able to get rid of nagging back injuries for good.
If you can’t afford a golf coach or do not want one, there are other ways to get training and instruction online. There are free videos and articles to help you with your training all over the net. A Better Golf Swing Is Inevitable If Your Consitent

A better golf swing is inevitable…for any golfer, with the right approach. It doesn’t matter age or ability. It’s a reality…and can happen very quickly!
To achieve a better golf swing, a golfer needs to realize just how physically demanding it is on the human body. If you swing an object (golf club) at up to 100 mph. This puts a tremendous amount of pressure on the joints, tendons, ligaments and muscles.
If these tissues of the body are weak, tight or brittle they will rupture and eliminate you from playing golf indefinitely. If it doesn’t, your performance will pay the price. The outcome either way is not what you want…but will happen without an emphasis on strengthening these areas.
Along with strengthening comes stretching. Stretching muscles to attain a better golf swing is common among most golfers. Although it is common, most golfers don’t stretch. Why? Because it is viewed as ‘work’. But if it were viewed as a form of golf improvement it would be a different story.
Swing mechanics cannot be improved if your golf specific strength and flexibility are ignored. It is an impossibility, unless you compensate for this lack of capabilities in your golf swing. Teaching pros are now starting to realize there is a definite connection between golf swing mechanics and fitness.
But that’s where the BIG gap is. Between instruction and physical fitness. This is the ultimate combination for total golf performance and I have been preaching it for several years now. When your physical capabilities are improved, your golf swing mechanics become much easier to achieve.
The next time you visit your teaching pro, to achieve a better golf swing, you’ll be able to do what he/she wants and the desired outcome will be achieved. This outcome is inevitable when you get your body moving better. Your golf swing mechanics fall into place.
It will only be a matter of time when all golfers will approach their golf improvement this way. It’s the only way that will warrant lasting results and ultimately a better golf swing.
You just need to understand that a better golf swing is not depended upon how hard you hit the ball but, how much speed you put behind it. Strength will NOT out drive the speed hitter. Perfecting your swing to become consistent with every swing then, speed will follow and thus hitting a longer drive.
Just remember that a person who has stronger upper body strength will not always out hit the golf player who has increased his speed to the ball through consistent and a proper follow through.
One other very important factor is that the long hitter will not always outdo the player who is consistent and can get the ball in the hole in less strokes. Right?

The Right Way To Accomplish The Perfect Golf Swing

Everyone who golf’s needs to work on their swing. And by everybody I mean EVERYBODY. Professionals, weekend warriors, old, young, and new players. It’s always good to get back to basics and see the simple step by step golf swing.
For beginners this is a great place to start. Learning the basics of the step by step golf swing is a strong basis to continue on learning variations of the golf swing. Knowing how to line up your shot to the follow through is something you need to have that in the bag before you venture on to more advanced tactics.
And of course for the other experienced golfers a refresher can never hurt. Sometimes experience players get caught up in changing their swing they forget some of the basics. Sometimes they shy away from the correctness of swinging a golf club. They also may have overlooked or missed certain parts.
There is always something to improve on. You have to play and monitor how you are playing. The next time you go out keep track of the greens in regulation you hit. How many times you have hit the fairway or wound up in the rough. How many par saves did you have? How well were you hitting out of the sand if you had to. Were you slicing when you did not intend to. These things will give you something to work on maybe at the range. Pin pointing what is causing your round to suffer is really the only way to improve.
Yeah watching the PGA tour players you see them drawing and fading and hitting it thin and making these amazing shots. But I guarantee they all started with step by step golf swing teachings on how to perform flawless golf swing.
Here is just a glimpse of what the flawless golf swing consists of:
When setting of for the perfect golf swing you must first line up your shot. A good way to do this is stand behind your ball so that you can see your ball and your target and a straight line between the two. Look maybe six inches to a foot in front of your ball and find a piece of debris or something that is in the direct line to your target. This is going to be your reference for when you are standing over the ball. You can now set the golf club behind the ball with the club face square to your target line. This is where that little piece of debris comes in handy. Next position your body so that your feet, hips, and shoulders are all parallel to your target line. You are now lined up to perform the perfect swing.
While your club face is square to your target grip the club with your left hand first. Lay the backside of the grip across the base of your fingers and wrap your hand around it. Put your thumb on top of the grip pointing down the shaft. You should apply the most pressure with the middle and ring finger. And when I say pressure I mean gently squeeze just enough to know the club won’t fly out of your hands when you do the golf swing. Next you want to add your right hand to the grip as if you were going to shake someone’s hand. You can interlock your right pinky finger with your left pointer, have your right pinky finger overlapping your left pointer finger, or have them side by side on the shaft.
Setting up your stance for a golf swing is key. The perfect golf swing is a swing not a hit. Knowing that, you can understand a good balanced stance is important. You should have your feet shoulder width apart with the ball in the middle of your stance. Keep your hips and shoulders perpendicular to your target line. Your back foot should be perpendicular to the target line. Your front foot should be slightly angled toward the target. Since your right hand is lower on the club your spine should be angled toward your back foot and your head slightly behind the ball and should stay there throughout the swing. Your knees should have a slight bend in them for balance. You should also be leaning forward at the waist keeping your spine straight. Keeping the spine straight is very important because this is the axis you’ll be “swinging” your body around. Your arms should be somewhat loose and hang from your shoulders down to grip the club.

How To Fine Tune Your Golf Swing
For some, golf is one of those games that may shorten your lifespan. But for others, it is a grand game where patience and a good hip go a long way.
While it may seem simple enough as all you need to do is to hit a metallic ball really hard to hurl it towards a hole at the other side, countless people have trounced in frustration because of it. Luckily, it doesn’t have to always be so bad.
Keep it simple, keep practicing
The keyword in golf is consistency. If you can’t hit the ball the same way each and every single time, then you will definitely have bad scores.
Such problems like short distance, slicing, hooks, and many other golfing maladies are caused by lack of consistency. Therefore, you are to achieve consistency by improving your form.
The only way for your body to do the same thing in the same way is to train it, and train it well. Practice.
Learning how to swing your club properly should be simple enough as long as you practice. A good way to think about it is to use your spine as an axis and keep your grip on the club properly.
Such techniques are used by professional golfers all around the world. While differences can be quite subtle, there are many different types of golf swings.
The similarity is that they all adhere to this principle. If you learn how to apply these principles to your swing, then you shall have no problem in driving longer distances without slicing and having 90% of strokes landing on the fairway.
Economy of movement
The best thing to do with your golf swing is to reduce unnecessary movements. Think of it as energy conservation, since all of your energy is supposed to be focused on hitting the ball and not wasted on awkward movements that cause slicing and other problems in the first place.
Get back to the basics and incorporate only the movements needed to hit the ball dead center. This should lower your handicap by 7-12 strokes in no time.
With more practice, you will hit par or better every single time. However, that is only if you do practice.
Get lessons
To learn more about the golf swing, the most obvious thing is to receive instruction in an actual golf class.
These classes would have equipment and instructors that can help you achieve perfection as long as you have the determination, discipline, and money to do it.
Enrolling in such classes does require a fee, so you do need to be earning quite a bit before you can actually think of getting into it. However, you can learn a lot if you do.
Read up
Others would try to find information over the internet. This is quite convenient, but the information gathered can be quite conflicting.
As there are many different ways to hit a golf ball, experts are divided in what is the best way to improve your golf swing.
Your job in this is to find out what is best for you. Every golfer has a different body, so not everyone can adhere to the same swing.
By being able to adjust to your configuration, you can improve without having to break a back or hip to do it.

The Tom Fazio Championship golf course at The Club at Carlton Woods, located in the gated enclave of Carlton Woods Creekside in The Woodlands, has achieved the designation of “Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary” through the Cooperative Sanctuary Program for golf courses, an Audubon International Program. Eric Bauer, Director of Grounds at The Club at Carlton Woods who led the effort to sanctuary status for the course, has been acclaimed for Environmental Stewardship by Audubon International, according to William E. Langley, CCM, Vice President of Club Operations for The Club at Carlton Woods.
The Tom Fazio Championship course is the 16th course in Texas and the 779th in the world to get this impressive award. The Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course at The Club at Carlton Woods, located in the gated enclave of Carlton Woods, was designated as a “Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary” in 2003, stated Langley. The Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for golf courses, endorsed by the United States Golf Association, gives supervision and information to assist management of golf courses to safeguard and enhance wildlife habitats, and keep natural resources.
“The Club at Carlton Woods has shown a strong commitment to its environmental program. They are to be commended for their efforts to provide a sanctuary for wildlife on the golf course property,” said Jim Sluiter, Staff Ecologist for the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Programs. “To reach certification, a course must demonstrate that they are maintaining a high degree of environmental quality in a number of areas.” These areas include: environmental planning, wildlife and habitat management, outreach and education, chemical use reduction and safety, water conservation, and water quality management.
“I am very satisfied that both the Fazio golf course now and the Nicklaus Signature course in the past have received certification from Audubon International,” Langley said. “Getting this this credit from Audubon International is very important to The Club at Carlton Woods and The Woodlands Development Company and stresses our effort to help improve the environment. This is a commitment that is carried throughout the 28,000 forested acres of The Woodlands.” more information
Bauer, a 2008 finalist for TurfNet’s Superintendent of the Year, joined The Woodlands Development Company to help with the Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course at The Club at Carlton Woods in 2002. He later assisted with the opening of the Tom Fazio Championship golf course, also at The Club at Carlton Woods. Through his tenure, the Nicklaus course was named the #3 Best New Private Course in America and the #1 Best New Private Course in Texas by Golf Digest in 2002 and ranked the #2 Private Course in Texas by The Dallas Morning News in 2006. The Nicklaus course was also ranked the Top Private Course in the Greater Houston Area by the Houston Chronicle in 2001. After its opening, the Fazio course was recognized as the #3 Best New Private Course in America and the #1 Best New Private Course in Texas by Golf Digest in 2006. Both the Nicklaus and Fazio course are for play by members of The Club at Carlton Woods. Carlton Woods is one of only two gated communities in the United States to offer a private Nicklaus/Fazio combination.

Beginners Golf Tip - Learn Golf Lesson In The Pleasure Of Your Own Home

If you are a beginner golf player and taking golf lessons are out of your range, for whatever reason, whether it be planning or finances, all hope is not lost because there are numerous other sources of golf guideline that you can find, from the comfort of your own home, and on your own time.
Today’s information age has provided you with the means of educating the essentials of golf via numerous journals, golf-related computer programs, and golf lessons videos.
Golf Magazines Are A Great Way To Pick Up Lessons
As a beginners golf player you can take a look at your local bookstore and pay a visit the sporting area of the magazine section. You will find out quite a bit of magazines devoted entirely to golf. For example, the magazines “Golf Magazine” and “Golf Digest” contain material that is primarily made up of golf instructions.
The articles in these types of magazines are written by pros and world-class trainers complete with amazing photos that detail each movement being discussed.
The only drawback to sifting through golf magazines is that the beginners golfer is able to get a little bewildered as to what tips are best suited to his or her skill level. For instance, you may uncover an article written by Annika Sorenstam that gives tips on how to create a lot of backspin from a typical shot. Sure this may help a more advanced golfer, but the new player should not be paying attention to such techniques at the beginning stages of the game.
So take your time and have the benefit of the entire of the articles, but use common sense in selecting what instruction to get and what practice tips to carry to the course.
Golf-Related Computer Programs are Also Available
Computer programs that consist of instruction lesson material is becoming more and more well known these days. With almost everyone having a computer, you can get much information about golf downloaded onto a CD or a DVD.
The simplicity of reading and learning golf tips from a computer program with one click of the mouse is interesting to lots of people. However, the drawback is that you can not bring your computer to the course to practice the lessons you see on the screen.
Golf Videos: My Personal Favorite
What better technique to get motivated than by watching Tiger Woods making incredible shots from a televised tournament? Golf instruction videos have always been my favorite option when reviewing instructions and tips released by the pros.
They allow you to see close-up views of every part of a specific swing, offer a variety of angles of a specific technique, and usually illustrate a sequence in slow motion for you. And even if the video does not have slow-motion footage, guess what - you can pause and hit slow motion whenever you want with a remote control!
Videos make a good attempt to copy the type of lessons you may receive a real golf lesson. However, they are not individualized and you may own to procure on a a small number of series of tapes in order to encompass all of the questions and problems you may need to improve on.

Tips For Newbies To Get Used Clubs

If you are someone who is dismayed by how professionals are using their golf clubs in swinging, then you might be already convinced to know how to play the game. With this, you will need to have a golf club set in order to practice. But since you’re still a newb, it is not practical for you to purchase a brand spanking new golfing set particularly if you won’t be golf pro. For just in cases, you should carry a swiss army golf tool.
You can opt to just hire a golf club. However as a golfer, you may wish to have your own golf set too. With this, these are some steps on how you can get at least a second hand golf club.
Firstly, you can get advice from your golfing mates who have been playing this sport for a while. There is nada wrong in asking a question especially if you’re into learning the sport. Once they have given you the advice that you need, then you can try out their clubs to have a feel of it. Feeling a golf club can be considered a perfect way to purchase a golf club for you. You can try and swing it out and if it feels good for you then you can buy the same kind of golf club.
The next thing that you should do is to ask the professionals for recommendation. In this fashion, you’ll actually have the best advice in selecting the best golf club. You can ask the execs at the place where you play golf or another option is to consult those people at the store for recommendation. At the same time, you can read some entries online for some guide in getting the best club even if they’re used. You’ll need the golf club to fit your present golfing capabilities.
For noobs, it’s not a good idea to buy a entire set of golf clubs. What you can do is to get a half set of clubs first. Your first half set of clubs should have five iron clubs and also an added putter. It is not necessary for you to have a driver just yet since it is going to be really hard to control for newbies. At the same time, those 1 to three irons is also not included for you to have at this level.
The other types of clubs that you need to choose are those that have bigger club heads. This is for the reason that they can give further ball distance and at the same time is ideal for contacts that aren’t on the center.
Since you’re going to buy used golf clubs, it is important for you to test if the grip fits you perfectly. If not then you want to replace them. This is vital since a good grip will either make or break your swing. You’ll need to ask for a pro golf repairman to mend the club for you.

What Are The 5 Golf Facts That Will Change Your Game
August 19, 2009 by admin
Are you seeing the same decrease in your handicap that reflects your hard work and efforts? Do you consistently fall short on your drives or feel exhausted at the end of 18 holes? Do you carry the disappointment of a missed putt over into the next hole? If you are plagued with problems like these then it is time to give your golf game a boost. Change your golf game for the better by focusing on the following five areas: flexibility, strength, endurance, nutrition, and mental toughness.
Flexibility:
Have you ever rushed to the golf course, quickly stepped up to the tee and felt stiff when you swung your golf club? Warming up your muscles can help relieve stiffness, but it is better to be more proactive in your approach. Therefore, it is essential to stretch on a regular basis. This allows you to increase and maintain your flexibility. You only need a small investment of your time in order to see significant gains in your range of motion.
Strength:
Have you incorporated strength training into your exercise routine? Many golfers are tempted to swing as hard as possible when hitting the golf ball. There are several adverse side effects of doing this. Your muscles may not be physically prepared for the intense strain and you may become injured. Increasing strength will enable your body to tackle the demands of the golf swing and prepare it for the action ahead.
Endurance:
Do you lose your intensity or feel tired after a few holes? If so, then focus on your endurance. At first glance, golf may not appear to be a game in which aerobic fitness is necessary. However, golfers that walk the course can walk nearly five miles over the course of 18 holes. Try to work in 20-45 minutes, 3-5 days per week of cardiovascular activity.
Nutrition:
Your body needs the proper fuel to work efficiently. Common sense dictates that loading up on junk food is a bad idea. So what exactly should you eat? An optimal sports nutrition menu plan will include high quality carbohydrates, lean protein, fruits, vegetables, and plenty of water.
Mental Toughness:
Are you still thinking about the drive you sliced on the first hole as you set up to tee off at the second hole? This negative thought pattern will adversely affect your game. How you perceive the situation affects each shot. One way to increase your mental toughness is not to relive missed shots. Visualize a good shot to help erase the missed shot from your mind.
Take these five facts into account and you’ll likely see better results with your game. It will take some time to make these activities a habit, but will be well worth the effort. In no time at all, you’ll be hitting longer drives with accuracy.
