How To Hit The Ball Straighter And Longer

February 8, 2010 by admin

Many golfers hit the ball off the tee only to see it curve toward the trees, or meander off the green into a sand trap. If they could learn to hit the ball straighter then they could drastically reduce their total score. The way you hit off the tee drastically affects the rest of your game.

Naturally the better you learn to play the more you can enjoy the game. Improving your game can be as easy as buying a better set of clubs. There are many producers of golf clubs that provide lines of quality drivers that can help keep the ball straight and therefore help improve your score.

Callaway Golf is one of the most popular manufacturers of drivers. They offer many different drivers. One of the most popular is the Big Bertha. This oversized titanium driver is perhaps the best Callaway driver they have to offer.

The Callaway golf drivers range offer many different drivers that are all designed to do the same thing, improve a golf game. By offering a variety of drivers Calloway is able to focus on many different levels of golfers. This provides golfers of every skill level an opportunity to improve their game.

Perhaps their most popular and best driver is the Callaway 460 driver. The limits of design are pushed with this driver. The specs are just within the limitations set by USGA. The 460cc of area on this driver provide just about the largest area permitted to hit the ball with. The 460 is a titanium driver that is designed to provide a longer and straighter ball.

Besides a good quality club there are some others things that need to be considered in order to improve your drive. One of the first things you should focus on is the source of your problem. What is it you are doing that causes the ball from keeping straight? If you can answer this question then you can go far to improve your game.

You may be slicing to the left or right. Another common problem, is hitting the ball to high and then watching the ball turn. The opposite can happen as well, hitting it low and it bending fast. These can all be corrected by improving your grip. Your grip plays a major role in your swing, which in turn affects your overall game. You may want to ask your golf buddies to give their advice or perhaps you might escape and ridding by asking the golf pro to help you out.

One of the hardest things to do for some golfers is learning to swing the club effectively. It is common to over swing. This will cause the angle you hit the ball at to be too high. Or you may be swinging not high enough.

So many of us start with a great swing and then we slam on the brakes right before hitting the ball. We usually do this because we are concerned we are going to slice and then we slice because we hit the brakes and this is where it gets frustrating. When you overcompensate you end up doing the very thing you are trying to avoid. Mastering your grip and your swing and remembering to not hit the brakes can affect the way your ball travels and will have a positive effect on your attitude and how you play.

Golf Club Specifications - Personal to Each Golfer

January 26, 2010 by admin

Each person’s swing is their own unique signature. If you do not buy the proper equipment based upon your own needs, your golf skill will never reach its full potential. Understanding golf club specifications can make it easier to purchase a readily available set of clubs found at any retail location for golf equipment, but the best option is to purchase clubs which are custom-designed.

Drivers

There are three factors on a driver which affect its performance: loft, shaft length, and face angle. The loft is determined from the position from the where the club hits the ball. The scale is from 7 to 16 degrees for this measurement.
45 inches is the typical shaft length on the driver. The front is different depending on who makes it. The most inexpensive drivers do not state the angle in golf club specifications but this can be a key component.

Swing weight is also an important factor according to many golfers. This has an impacct on how far the ball will go. Swing weight can be described as the weight of the club head as it is approaching the limit of the downswing immediately prior to making contact with the ball. The heavier the swing is, the better the golf club will hit the golf ball.

Putters and Irons-how tall the golfer is is vital in obtaining the correct club length. Players who aren’t as tall, frequently use custom made drivers and woods with shorter shafts. Similarly, tall golfers will likely need to adjust the shaft length of various types of clubs, including irons, wedges, and others. Manufacturers consider 36 inches to be the standard for putters. If you are not average height in golf you must get the length of your club adjusted.

The usual recreational golfer may find many golf club stipulations making little sense. Most things associated with golf, the golf club shaft flex, grips and heads have their own ratings. When making an appointment for a custom fitting for golf clubs, the expert working with you needs to be very familiar with such evaluations.  Beyond getting into the topic more, make sure when purchasing clubs, they fit your swing style and body type.

How to choose Golf Club Bag

January 5, 2010 by admin

A gold bag is needed by even a casual golfer. You cannot walk around a golf course without something to put your golf clubs in. Club bag size depends on how many clubs you own, and also on other accessories you desire to carry with you. A few places will throw in a standard bag with your club purchase, but you will probably want to upgrade if you need more features from your golf club bag.

The Quality Golf Club Bag has some unique features.

Even basic bags usually features pockets for tees and golf balls, ball markers, and such. You can attach your car keys and hang a towel probably over there on that ring. Typically, a set of golf clubs includes 13 clubs and most bags contain enough space for all of them, in addition to a couple other items, such as an umbrella and a ball receiver that extends to retrieve balls from tight spots or water features. A water bottle holder is a feature of some modern bags.

To separate the clubs by woods, irons, etc., there will be two or three dividers located inside the bag.
Bags that allow room for organization are great, some have places to hold the club as well as the shaft. Head cover’s are a necessity to keep the club head’s from banging against each other and prevent possible damage. Woods can get dinged more easily. Clubs can get banged up and tossed around in the bag while driving in the golf cart, but a set of head covers can help prevent damage.

The pouch should be able to tolerate travel. It may be worthwhile to invest in a custom carrier for your golf club bag if you travel much and enjoy playing golf at your destinations.

There is a great variety of styles and colors. A few golf clubs are made especially for ladies, with flower patterns and a more feminine appearance. Pay close attention to the carrying strap. If you plan to carry your bag during your round, make sure you choose a bag that’s straps include padding to protect your upper body from the weight. Some golf club bags include a harness for the back that helps to spread the weight of the bag evenly.

When choosing a golf club bag, make sure to pick a quality product. Good products are produced by trustworthy manfacturers and contain all the features needed to make golf outings more enjoyable.

Hybrid Golf Clubs made custom.

Hybrid vehicles are becoming popular but did you know that custom hybrid golf clubs are now also available? Custom-designed golf clubs makes reference to clubs that are made to fit your body shape, as well as, the strength of your golf swing. Serious golfers will want to know more whenit comes to custom hybrid clubs.

Custom hybrid golf clubs make a lot of sense for those golfers who are shorter than, or taller than 5′ 9″.
Having clubs that are improperly sized can negatively effect your swing. An increasing number of serious golfers are starting to understand how much value a set of custom designed clubs can give them.

Pro players utilize Hybrid Clubs.

Hybrid golf clubs are used by the majority of skilled golfers. Since they first appeared, these clubs have gotten great reviews in golf magazines in addition to teachers and club professionals. Nevertheless, beginning golfers weren’t so fast to get on the bandwagon. Initially hybrid clubs were hard to play with and learning to swing well with them proved troublesome. The manufacturers paid attention and made several alterations in the design that made it perfect for even the beginning golfers.

A combination long iron and fairway wood resembles certain types of hybrid golf clubs. These are made specifically to let a golfer hit the ball up in the air and reach their max drive, in addition to being good for those hard placed balls. Hybrids accomplish this by moving the center of gravity to the very lowest part of the club, completely different than a regular iron.

Some of the other variations may include, but not limited to things such as the flat face of the club and an increased launch angle. By increasing the ball spin during flight, this makes it easier to stop the ball on the green and increases one’s accuracy. Many pros state that hybrid clubs help golfers’ shots go farther.

Any type of custom golf iron is a needed item to seriously play golf. Your distance and your accuracy will both get better if you use these custom clubs; you could even see your handicap go down.

How to Fix Your Golf Swing

November 8, 2009 by admin

Most likely, it’s your hamstrings and your low back.

We are going to explore the connection between your hammies, your low back and that less than PGA pro, Golf Magazine type golf swing.

Let’s start with your hamstrings. The function of the hamstrings in your body is pretty complex.

First off, your hamstrings help stabilize your hip area.. Also your hamstrings bend your knee The low back is essentially a group of small muscles. All these little muscles together comprise the lower back region of the body. The lower back muscles have a lot of functions. To start off , especially during movement, the lower back muscles help stabilize your spine at all times And now, into golf swing.

The golf swing is essentially a total body movement that requires the body to move through multiple planes of motion. Both the low back and hamstrings become “tight” from swinging a club. The connection is that hamstrings and the low back are working extremely hard during the golf swing, and quite often either one or the other (low back or hamstrings or even both) gets “tight.” Your swing looks stiff and choppy when you are actively using both of these muscle groups in the golf swing, these muscles get “tired”.

The golf swing requires your body to move through a pretty complex range of motion. This large range of motion allows the golfer to swing the club on the correct path, create club head speed, and swing the club with the correct timing. Ultimately, it provides the golfer with the correct golf swing.

This results in reduced club head speed and less likelihood of swinging the club on the correct swing plane or with the correct timing. I would suggest the implementation of a golf-specific training program that assists in getting the body ready to swing a golf club. In these muscle groups for the golf swing, this type of program focuses on developing the proper ranges of motion

Forever End Golf Swing Confusion

November 8, 2009 by admin

We’re in the information age,  this often means information overload when it comes to the golf swing

As new golfers, we start out believing that there is one right way to swing, only to find out that there are just about as many swing methods as there are instructors.  It seems that the more we learn about the golf swing, the more our minds are filled with confusing, contradictory information.

Maybe the one you could play the best, or the one you listened to most recently or you would have chosen the information from the pro who was most well known, or the one you could play the best, or the one you listened to most recently .  There is now a proven way to determine which swing method is best for you, this is the good news .that’s easy. The secret’s to start with impact!

While there are hundreds, or maybe even thousands of different swing methods, there is only one way the club needs to be at impact to hit a desired shot.  If your club is in that position, you’ll get the results you want.If it was not, you won’t.  It’s the most important aspect of your golf swing, this impact is often called the moment of truth .  If you want to find your best swing, and end swing confusion forever, the secret is to relate every swing change to impact.

For example, if you want to know whether one set-up is better than another, figure out which one allows you to swing your club into the ideal position at impact in the easiest, most comfortable, most powerful way.  Notice which way makes it easiest for you to achieve the ideal impact position, if you want to know whether a flatter or a more upright backswing is best .

While there are numerous swing methods, there is only one way to swing that is the, easiest, most comfortable, and most powerful way for YOU  Trust that the swing that feels best is the right way to swing and you’ll end swing confusion forever!

9 Tips for playing well under pressure

November 4, 2009 by admin

Get Every Putt to the Hole

Because the player decelerates on the through-stroke, it makes most putts come up short . Minimize Your Swing Thoughts

Preshot: Visualize what you want the ball to do.

Address: Align the clubface where you want the ball to go.

Swing thought: Freely swing the clubhead.

Survive The First-tee Jitters

Nervousness makes you speed up your tempo, which affects consistency and accuracy. Like you want to hit it only 100 yards,  swing your driver smoothly .

Make More Tough Short Putts

Set your putterface square to the desired line, then square your feet and shoulders to that line. Not at the ball but make a smooth stroke while looking at the target .

Take More Club on Par 3s

Few amateurs hit the ball over or through the green on par 3s; most come up short. If you hit it flush, you’re on; You still might make it to the putting surface, if you hit it less than solidly .

Score Lower on Par 5s

Your favorite yardage into the green and make the last shot. Divide the difference by two when subtract that yardage . With this strategy, you’re hitting lofted clubs that are easier to hit and more accurate.

Good greenside bunker players accelerate the clubhead through the shot, letting the sand “splash” the ball out. Set up with the face of your sand wedge slightly open, the ball slightly forward in your stance. Hit the sand behind the ball, and finish your swing like you’re hitting a full 5-iron.

Chip with Your Putting Stroke

To avoid chunking or skulling your chip shots, take a lofted club like a 7-, 8- or 9-iron and grip it like your putter. Lean the shaft and your body toward the target for a slightly descending blow. Make your putting stroke, allowing the loft of the club to carry the ball over the unpredictable turf onto the green.

Get Your Irons Airborne

Most topped shots occur when you try to help the ball into the air with a scooping motion.
